Biography:

Walt Morton serves as a Mortgage Banking Specialist for First National Bank. In this role, he has responsibility for originating residential mortgage loans, including conventional, construction-to-permanent, physician, lot, Federal Housing Administration and Veterans Affairs options. Based in Winston-Salem, NC, he can lend in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Morton joined First National Bank in 2022, with more than 38 years’ experience in mortgage lending. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing and Information Systems, from Appalachian State University.

Morton volunteered as President of the Mt. Tabor High School Athletic Board for four years and served as a board member for eight years. He has served as President of the Winston-Salem Mortgage Lenders Association, and is a member of the Winston-Salem Board of Realtors and Home Builders Association. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem, NC, where he has volunteered in various capacities.
